Garanlabel

Support

For Garanlabel, the macOS app that produces the EU harmonised label for the commercial guarantee of durability — the GARAN label.

Something wrong, or a question? Write to support@garanlabel.com. In the app, Help ▸ Report a Problem… prepares a message with the version details already in it; you can copy it and send it from wherever you read mail.

Questions people ask

Is this the European Commission's official tool?
No. Garanlabel is independent and is not endorsed by or affiliated with the Commission or any other EU institution. It reproduces the vector files the Commission publishes for producers and sellers to use, and changes only the fields that Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960 marks as editable. It gives no assurance of legal compliance and is not legal advice; only the official text of the regulation is authoritative, and responsibility for labelling a product correctly stays with the producer or seller.
What is free, and what costs money?
Single labels are free, always — all three versions, every export format, no limit. Credits apply only to batch generation from a spreadsheet, and the first 10 batch labels are free too, so you can put your own file through end to end before paying for anything. Ready-made nested strips are also free to download here.
What does one credit buy?
One label, identified by its duration, brand and model — not one file. Export it in every version and format you like for that one credit, and regenerating a label you have already made costs nothing, however many times. Credits never expire.
I bought credits and reinstalled the app. Where are they?
Credits are consumable purchases, which the App Store cannot restore the way it restores a paid app, so they live on the Mac that bought them. The app keeps a second copy in the keychain, which survives deleting and reinstalling. If a balance is genuinely lost, write to the address above with the date of purchase and it will be sorted out.
Can I move credits to another Mac?
No. They belong to the Mac they were bought on.
How do I ask for a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. Garanlabel cannot issue them.
Which spreadsheets does batch generation read?
CSV and tab-separated files, with comma, semicolon or tab as the separator, with or without a header row, in any column order — the app shows which column it took for what, and you can correct it. Half years are written 2,5 or 2.5. Excel and Numbers both save files it reads; the Batch screen also offers a template to start from.
Where did the window go?
Closing the window leaves the app running. Bring it back with Window ▸ Garanlabel (⌘0), or by clicking the app's icon in the Dock.
Does my product data leave my Mac?
No. Labels are drawn on your machine, there is no account and nothing is uploaded. See the privacy policy.
Which macOS does it need?
macOS 14 or later.

The regulation itself

The label's design and content are fixed by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960, which applies from 27 September 2026. The Commission's own files and its practical guidelines are published here. What the rules mean for a single offer is set out on the start page.
